Chibuzor Ekwekwo

Board Chairman

Chibuzor Ekwekwo has about 24 years law practice experience, both as a litigator at the beginning and in the last ten years as a corporate and consulting attorney. He has extensive experience in regulatory reforms and corporate management in Nigeria, and in supporting the work of many international agencies, public bodies, private companies and civil society organizations as well delivering extensive advisory projects providing law reform and institutional development guidance for National and sub-national governments, and civil society organizations. He has good knowledge of national and international anti-corruption systems. Chibuzo holds an MBA Management Degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Anti- Corruption Studies and works out of the Abuja Office. He is an American Certified PPP practitioner and also holds an MSC in public procurement management for sustainable development from Turin University Italy. He is a member of the Governing Board of Rhema University.

Obiora Chukwumba

Board Member

Obiora Chukwumba is a multifaceted media professional with proven track records in newspaper and magazine production, wire reporting, broadcast content production and film regulation. He studied Mass Communication at the Institute of Management & Technology, IMT, Enugu. He holds an M.Sc also in Mass Communication from Benue State University, Makurdi and a PhD in Media Arts from the University of Abuja. His media career started with the African Concord.

Oladayo Olaide

Board Member

Oladayo Olaide is the Deputy Director of the MacArthur Foundation’s Nigeria office. He is a non-profit expert and international development professional with vast experience designing and managing projects across diverse topics and issues, including accountability, anti-corruption, elections, democracy, natural resource governance, education, maternal health provision, and media support. He has vast experience working with government, media, civil society, academics, and professional associations. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, the Netherlands.

Dr. Joe Abah

Board Member

Joe Abah has gained extensive experience in the governance sector, working on public sector reform programs for the U.K. Prime Minister’s Office. He has spent more than 10 years managing governance programs in Nigeria for the U.K. Department for International Development, including on the DAI-led State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability project.

From 2013 to 2017, Joe worked with the Government of Nigeria as Head of the Bureau for Public Sector Reform. He has now returned to DAI to serve as Country Director for Nigeria, where he provides technical and strategic inputs to DAI’s existing portfolio of projects, in addition to supporting business development initiatives.

Seember Nyager

Board Member

Seember Nyager is a Lawyer, Governance Policy Expert, and a strong advocate for open contracting data. She was a fellow of Open Government at Open Knowledge / Code for Africa and  the former CEO of the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC).  She currently works at Facebook as a Strategic Response Policy Manager and is poised to foster Gender equity and justice.

 

Edetean Ojo

Board Member

Edetaen Ojo has worked on access to information, media freedom and freedom of expression, media development, human rights and democracy issues in Nigeria, regionally and internationally for about 25 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife in Nigeria and a Masters degree in International Journalism from City University, London in the United Kingdom. He also has a diploma in NGO Management from Galilee College in Israel, and is a former visiting media fellow at the DeWitt Wallace Center for Communications and Journalism at Duke University in North Carolina in the United States.

Edetaen is a former Co-Chair and currently a member of the National Steering Committee of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Nigeria as well as a member of the Board of Directors of International Media Support (IMS), an international media development organization based in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Lilian Chisara Ekeanyanwu

Board Member

Lilian Chisara Ekeanyanwu, a seasoned attorney-at-law with over 23 years of legal practice, holds a Master’s in Counter Fraud and Corruption Studies and is a distinguished alumna of the Les Aspin Center for Government, Marquette University. As a former Director at the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) and Head of the Technical Unit on Governance and Anti-Corruption Reforms (TUGAR), she has made significant contributions to the anti-corruption landscape in Nigeria. Currently serving as an Anti-Corruption Consultant with the UNODC and a Technical Advisor with the Macarthur Foundation, she continues to shape the discourse on governance and transparency.

Hilary Chima Ogbonna

Board Member

Hilary Chima Ogbonna is a legal/development professional with two decades of experience in supporting governance and development processes, as well as institutions and stakeholders across Africa, the Middle East and globally. He is passionate about people-centered development, governance and institutional reforms, human rights and strategic partnerships which are at the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He brings an impressive network across Africa and globally, coupled with my track record of mobilizing multi-level partnerships and technical support, advocacy and coalition building initiatives and programme management in partnership with governments, UN Country Teams, multilateral institutions, national and international NGOs, parliaments, private sector, academia and the media on the Sustainable Development Goals and its predecessor, the Millennium Development Goals.

He has gained specialist experience in facilitating partnerships, capacity building, resource mobilisation and designing development and governance programs for UN Agencies, Governments and civil society organisations across Africa and the Middle East.

As an accomplished farmer, she blends her passion for agriculture with her dedication to creating a more just and equal society. Umma is known for her hard work, honesty, dedication, and qualitative service delivery in achieving organizational objectives.
